Q: What inspired you to set up Bubez foods and Bubez centre?

A: I used to give my kids pap as their staple when they were babies and would always prepare from home. I knew there were other mothers like me who wanted to give their family pap but because of the strenuous preparation time they were skipping it in their family meals. I decided to bridge gap between hygiene and processing convenience. That began the Bubez Foods journey in August 2012.

For Bubez Centre I’ve always wanted women to come out of their mediocre mindsets of running businesses and their careers so in 2008 I founded Bubez centre out of passion saying to women you can be your best.IMG_0176.jpg

Q: Please tell us a bit about your experience as an entrepreneur in the food processing industry (Challenges and triumphs)

A: The challenges are enormous from funding challenges to regulatory challenges to staffing, logistics energy name it.

Our triumphs will include becoming a household brand when you mention pap especially with our signature variants the Strawberry and Vanilla flavoured Bubez Pap.

Q: If you could turn back the hands of time, what you do differently in terms of your running Bubez foods?

A: There’s nothing I would do differently. I’m comfortable with where we are now as a business in terms of positioning.

Q: What is your vision for Bubez foods and Bubez centre?

A: My Vision for Bubez Foods is to be able to one day raise IPO. For Bubez centre we just launched our online Business school with 32 pioneer students I think that’s a step in the right direction, beyond inspiring women, teaching them the requisites of building a sustainable business.

Q: How do you constantly improve on the quality of Bubez food products?

A: We attend food packaging fairs to see what’s obtainable globally and improve on our existing systems.

Q: What advice would you give women looking to venture into the food processing industry?

A: My advice is conquer your fears and just do it.

Q: How would you define success?

A: success is personal there’s no yardstick or measure for success. It’s a journey rather than a destination.
